Known for its unique surfaces, striking aesthetic, and design versatility, Lea Ceramiche’s Side Stone collection played a central role in the major renovation of the reception area and outdoor terrace of Hotel Imperiale in Gatteo a Mare (FC), located in the heart of Romagna Riviera. Completed in 2024 by architect Sara Pivato, with the collaboration of architect Raffaella Antoniacci, the renovation offers a prime example of how contemporary design and premium ceramic materials can come together seamlessly to transform spaces dedicated to hospitality.

The Side Stone collection, in its Cluster Mid version, characterised by an intensely textured surface, was used to clad the floors, functional surfaces, and seating areas of the hotel, helping establish a cohesive architectural language with a strong visual impact. The combination of ceramic surfaces and wood panelling creates a sophisticated composition that conveys an atmosphere of refined and understated elegance. Attention to detail is evident throughout the space, for example in the custom-designed recess created to house the baseboard, a discreet solution that protects the wood panelling while blending seamlessly into the overall design.

To meet both the functional and aesthetic needs of the hotel, multiple formats from the collection were used. The 60x60 cm format, with a thickness of 9 mm, was used for the indoor flooring and to clad an outdoor seating area, guaranteeing visual continuity between the two areas. The same continuity characterises the surfaces use in the reception area and to clad the bar top, both featuring the eclectic, mineral-inspired elegance of Side Stone, a product that lends a striking and sophisticated monolithic look to these spaces.

Once again, Lea Ceramiche’s surfaces take centre stage in an exceptional architectural setting, demonstrating their ability to blend form, function, and durability and reasserting the company’s role as a trusted partner in the world of contemporary design.
