Pigmenti by Ferruccio Laviani wins the iF DESIGN AWARD 2023

Lea Ceramiche’s Pigmenti collection is a winner of the iF DESIGN AWARD, one of the world’s most prestigious awards in the field of design. Designed by Ferruccio Laviani, the collection won in the Textile/Wall/Floor category. Every year, iF International Forum Design GmbH, the world’s oldest independent design organisation, based in Hanover, organises the iF DESIGN AWARD.

Pigmenti was selected as a winner from almost 11,000 entries submitted from 56 countries. The 133-member jury, made up of independent experts from around the world, was impressed by the ability of Lea Ceramiche and Ferruccio Laviani to interpret the material and reveal new expressive possibilities and unprecedented perspectives. The result in Pigmenti is a textured colour with a fine structure, where subtle graphic movements create depth and dynamism.

The result is even more remarkable considering that the material quality and craftsmanship that inspired the collection find expression in industrial production without losing their authenticity, thanks to Lea Ceramiche’s ability to preserve their distinctive and essential characteristics.

A research project within a research project, Pigmenti is also extraordinarily thin. A second ceramic skin just 3.5 mm thick, available in large-format slabs (3x1 m), opens up the possibility of use on vertical surfaces, indoors for highly distinctive environments, or outdoors for external façade applications or for cladding furnishing volumes. For this collection, Lea Ceramiche has made available the very best of its Slimtech 3plus technology: large-format laminated porcelain stoneware with extraordinary lightness, thanks to its ultra-thin thickness of just 3.5 mm. A versatile and resistant material capable of offering new perspectives in the worlds of architecture and living, expressing a technology that revolutionises the traditional production process to create a completely new solution.
